Hello and welcome to my book blog!  I am Parker Dawn, and I am happy you have joined me in my endeavor to read just about every book on the planet.  Ok, maybe not EVERY book but I read a lot so it may not be as far-fetched as it sounds.

A little about myself. I am just an everyday gal; wife, mother of three grown children, full time office professional.  Those that know me know I am an easy-going type of person.  I love the simple things in life; pumpkin hunting in the fall, hanging at the motorcycle track with my boys, loosing myself at B&N with my daughter.  I love beautiful fabric, funny movies, odd facts, and long discussions on just about anything. 

And I love to read.   

It is hard to say when my love affair with reading first began.  Early grade school at least; as the teacher would read to the class, I would become enrapt with all the adventures kids my age were having in those stories.  They would travel to outer space, or ride on underground railroads, or float off to wild islands.  Eventually I began choosing my own books, checking out biographies from the school library. I learned about George Washington. And Elizabeth Blackwell, the first woman to ever receive a medical degree in the United States.  Harriet Tubman, Dolly Madison, and Sacagawea all became heroes to me. I devoured those little books like they were candy.   Then I came across Frances Hodgson Burnett’s ‘The Secret Garden’.  Seriously, what little girl does not want her own secret garden?!?!  Hidden away from grown-ups and the rest of the world. And just like that garden, my imagination was sparked and my love affair with fiction bloomed.  I realized there were so many other worlds out there that I could visit. 

Fast forward to present time and you can find me reading just about anything.  I love deep, meaningful stories, and lighthearted romps.  I love mysteries and thrillers, and suspense.  I recently read The Girl on the Train by Paula Hawkins and found it completely engrossing.  And those steamy historical romances???  Oh yeah, I am all in.

It is safe to say, whatever the genre, I will be reading.  I am excited to share this new endeavor with you and I hope you join me with your own reading adventures.   So, let us get started, shall we?   See you on the blog!!!!!
